What is a group
A Group is a group of user(s) that will be called by one number / extension. You will be able then to add options an define how the group will be called. For more advanced group function please refer to the CallFlow app.

Creation of a new group (you need to have created one or more users before creating a group)
- Open the SmartPBX Admin App
- Click on the “Groups” tab on the left pane.
- Within the “Groups” dashboard, click on the “Add Group” button.
- The interface has a handy drag and drop feature to add users to a group. Drag the available users over to “selected users”, create a name for your new group and add an extension.
Distribute a call
Now we are going to configure how the call to the group will be distributed between the users.
- Click on the “Members” tab of the Group
- Here you can adjust the green line to match you desired distribution. In the example below, calls will first ring simultaneously to Jean and Quentin. Then after 20 seconds it will ring to Arthur.
- Once changes are made, don't forget to click on save changes.
- To configure an action if no one answer the call please refer to the “group feature & configuration” chapter here below, see feature “Next Action”.
Assign a phone number to a group (optional)
- Open the SmartPBX Admin App
- Click on the “Groups” tab
- Within the “Groups” tab, click on the “Phone Numbers” button for the specific user.
- Click on the “Add from Spare Numbers” button.
- Select what Spare Number you would like assigned to the group. Once you have chosen a spare number click “Add Selected Numbers.” This will link the number with the user in a few seconds.
- Click Save changes to apply.
Your group can now receive the calls through the assigne number.
Group Features and configuration
- Select the Group features Tab
- Here you can activate the 5 groups features. When a feature is activated the icon will turn green ( in the example here below, “Next Action” feature is activated.)
- Call recording : this allow you to record calls (To enable this feature, please contact IPNexia, this feature will not work even if thee admin enable it without IPNexia action/agreement.)
- Contact IPNexia to configure the Call Recording feature
- Ringback : this feature allows you to change the traditional “beep” that a caller hears when calling the group. You can it with a voice message or a text.
- enable the feature
- either select a media that is already uploaded in the interface via the drop down list or click on upload to upload a new media file.
- click on save changes
- Next Action : You can here configure the action to do if no one picks up the call.
- Enable the feature
- Then select in the drop box, to who the calls needs to be forwarded if no one picks up (it can be a voicemail, another group, a user…)
- click on save changes
- Allow call-Forward : Enable this option if you want to allow this group's users to press their device "Forward" button to forward a call from this ring group. If this option is disabled, it will ignore the user's command.
- Enable the feature
- click on save changes
- Caller ID Prepend: this feature allows you to add a text or number before the caller id. So when a user receive a call, it can know that this call is a call from the group
- Enable the feature
- Add either a text or a number that will be added in front of the caller number.
- click on save changes
- Call recording : this allow you to record calls (To enable this feature, please contact IPNexia, this feature will not work even if thee admin enable it without IPNexia action/agreement.)
